General information

Venue: Episcopal Granary Visitor Center, Address: H-7621 Pécs, Dóm square 2.

The building was constructed at the beginning of the 1700s, by Bishop Ferenc Nesselrode. Upstairs, rising above a multi-storey wine cellar, the Granary Visitor Centre, an information point, provides space for conferences, community events, exhibitions, and art shows.

Travel information:

Pécs is located in the southwestern part of Hungary, appr. 220 km from Budapest.

By plane

In case you travel to Hungary on a flight, you may arrive to Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Budapest has a good connection with all major European cities. For flight information please check the airport’s webpage: www.bud.hu

Airport transfer

The most convenient way to travel from Budapest Airport to Pécs is taking an airport transfer. You can make a reservation for this service via the conference online registration system. Please note, that this is a shared minibus transfer, so some waiting time may occur at the airport, depending on the arrival time of other passengers. The waiting time cannot be more than 120 minutes.

By car

Toll must be paid on motorways in Hungary. For prices please check the following website. https://www.hungary-vignette.eu/
Vignette can be purchased at petrol stations as well.

By train

Intercity trains commute between Budapest and Pécs. Timetable and ticket is available on http://elvira.mav-start.hu/elvira.dll/x/index?language=2.

Visa:

Hungary is part of the Schengen Area. For participants from non-Schengen EU countries, USA and Canada a valid passport is needed to enter Hungary. Citizens of other countries may enter Hungary only with a valid entry visa. For further information please visit the website of the Hungarian Consular Service. www.mfa.gov.hu.

Official language:

The official language of the conference is English. Translation will not be provided.

Insurance:

The Organizers do not take any responsibility for injuries, or losses happening to participants, or participants’ belonging during the conference. Therefore participants are strongly advised to posses private travel and health insurance.

Currency:

The official currency is the Hungarian Forint (HUF – Ft). Hungary is not a member of the EU zone, but in some shops/hotels/restaurants payment is possible with EUR. Please check the daily exchange rate on the Hungarian National Bank’s website.
We recommend you NOT TO exchange money at the exchange office of the airport, due to the really unfair exchange rate!
