The HUPHAR2026 – International Conference of Pharmacology, Drug Research and Development international conference was held in Mátraháza between 3–5 June 2026, bringing together Hungarian and international professionals in drug research, drug development, and clinical pharmacology.
The scientific programme of the conference provided a comprehensive overview of the most dynamically developing fields of pharmacological research. The lectures and scientific sessions focused on the current challenges of clinical pharmacology, drug safety, and pharmacovigilance, with particular attention to the regulatory environment and new solutions supporting patient safety. In addition, special attention was given to innovative drug delivery systems, nanotechnology developments, and the possibilities of the therapeutic application of extracellular vesicles.
A significant part of the programme consisted of presentations introducing the results of neuropharmacological, immunopharmacological, psychopharmacological, and oncopharmacological research, presenting the latest directions in the development of personalised therapies, new drug targets, and modern treatment strategies.
The conference placed special emphasis on supporting the professional development of young researchers. During the YoungPharm satellite programme preceding the event, PhD students and early-career researchers had the opportunity to present their research results in short presentations and so-called “flash” presentations. As part of the programme, a career-building workshop, an academia–industry roundtable discussion, and networking events also supported the scientific advancement of young professionals and the expansion of their international connections. During the main conference, numerous oral presentations and poster presentations also provided opportunities for young researchers to present their results.
