HUPHAR Young Pharmacologist Research Application – 2025

In 2025, our Society once again announces its Young Pharmacologist Research Award for its young members who are actively and successfully engaged in the field of pharmacology and drug research. The conditions and regulations for submission are as follows:

The basis of the application, submitted in Hungarian or English, must be an experimental or clinical pharmacology publication in which the applicant is first author (or shared first author), and which was published or accepted for publication in 2025. The applicant is required to briefly summarize the aim of the research, the results, their scientific significance, and potential further applicability in a maximum length of 1–2 pages, clearly indicating and highlighting their own contribution to the entire project.

Please attach the published or accepted manuscript to the application.

Eligibility Requirements for Submission (to be declared by the applicant in the cover letter):

  • The applicant must be under 35 years of age, or turn 35 in 2025
  • Membership fees for 2024 and 2025 must be paid (to be verified by the Secretariat)
  • The applicant’s institutional affiliation, postal address, telephone number, and email contact must be provided

The application must be submitted as a single, signed PDF file and sent to Prof. Dr. Zsuzsanna Helyes, President of HUPHAR, at the following email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected]. Please indicate “Youth Award 2025” in the subject line of the email, supplemented with the applicant’s name.

The final submission deadline is January 30, 2026. Late submissions will result in automatic disqualification.

For the evaluation of the applications, the HUPHAR Executive Board will appoint a three-member review committee, coordinated by the Secretary General. The winners and rankings will be determined by secret ballot of the HUPHAR Executive Board. The official announcement of the results will take place at the 2026 General Assembly, while the ceremonial presentation of certificates will be held at the HUPHAR2026 Conference, scheduled for June 3–5, 2026, in Mátraháza.

All applicants will receive a commemorative certificate of HUPHAR. The authors of the awarded submissions will receive the following financial prizes:

  • First place: HUF 200,000
  • Second place: HUF 150,000
  • Third place: HUF 100,000

The awards will be paid in the form of a scholarship, following the signing of a support agreement with HUPHAR.
